A "Western-Goth" Spring | LookBook

For the past couple of weeks I've been branching out my style into new areas. Styles like Western, Goth, Indie, and other styles that I usually don't wear or stick to as much. After re-reading the Beautiful Creatures book series I think I've gotton a lot of inspiration and interest in this new style. "Western Goth" is what I like to call it. Perfect for spring and summer. You would see me wearing, as always, my mackey old brown boots from American Eagle or my overworn black combat boots from Charlotte Russe, dark florals, different shades between blue and black, acid washed denim, and a lot more black. It's a bit of dark vintage but with a tint of western and goth. I think I'm getting really into it, what do you guys think?

vintage || 1.11.15

I guess you can say vintage is a style that never gets old. Warm California winter Sundays call for long cardigans and distressed boots. Last sunday I wore to church my thrifted black cardigan, a long sleeve lace top, a vinatge necklace, my simple black skirt, and my old styled, distressed boots.

edgy || 1.14.15

There's nothing more better than feeling like the most "hard-rock and edgy" person in the room. It makes you want to throw out your own wardrobe and only allow edgy and dark clothes on your body. If that's even likely to happen.... I feel most comfortable and happy finding such unique things that it brings me to my conclusion of why I love fashion the most. Things like boy cardigans, different patterned sheer tights, layering, grandpa sweaters, overalls with boots, leather jackets, old band t-shirts from your garage, and even more that you wouldn't always see on a daily. I guess my fashion inspiration from all those indie tv shows and movies really paid off.
Last wednesday, I wore a thrifted boy cardigan in a dark army green color, a sheer cotton gray sweater, a simple black high waisted skirt, sheer fish net tights, and my overworn black combat boots which I simply adore.

adventures || 1960's Paris

It's alright to take adventures once in a while. Never underestimate the saying "you're never to old to have a little bit of fun". It doesn't matter what you're definition of "fun" is. As long as it makes you smile and brings you amusing feelings, then you are truly having an adventure!

Today was quite an adventurous day. I just couldn't stop thinking of what exhilarating things would come my way each and every second. Wide and imaginative thoughts, new explorings, and to top it all off: my very first visit to a train station. I don't know what was wrong with me at the moment, but I was taking thousands of photos at the train station and sort of looked like a "freak" with my camera out every 2 seconds, though I didn't care what others thought. All I cared about was beautiful pictures and more beautiful pictures. It was obviously the scenery that got me hooked, for sure! It had that 1940's and 1960's retro vintage feeling that I can never seem to get enough of. It was almost perfect.
Plus the outfit that I wore made me feel fancy and as if I was actually living in 1960's time in Paris. I wore my overworn navy blue velvet jacket, my also overworn rose patterned top (roses are my favorite flowers; roses significantly mean "love" and Paris is the City of "Love"), a simple black skirt, my new polka dot sheer tights, a bit of vintage jewelry, and my overworn black combat boots.

Here are most of the pictures that I've taken:

And to top all that off, my mom looked absolutely fabulous and fancy today. As if she was going to a fashion show in Paris or something....

Well today has been an amazing day! Please, all of you, go do something adventurous and fun today or tomorrow and I can assure you, you won't regret it. Have an amazing day/afternoon/night and please stay tuned for more posts! -M
